We're thrilled to have a feature story in Portfolio-Vero Beach's "Wanderlust" edition (September/October 2016). 

The story highlights our decision to move across the country from Florida to Colorado, and what it was like to live in our Airstream for five months.

This edition of Portfolio-Vero Beach features several stories of people living a life of travel and adventure, and examples for anyone to incorporate wanderlust into their daily lives. From glamping to yachting, there are numerous ways to get out and explore this wonderful world.

Yep, that's me: consumed by wanderlust. It's been a long winter here in Colorado - thanks El Niño! We keep getting sneak peeks of spring, in between snow storms. Spring... she's such a tease. Needless to say, I'm itching for warm weather and road trips. I'm ready to explore this new state of mine.

And this fabulous key chain?! It's from one of my favorite stores: The Junk Gypsy Company. On our cross-country move from Florida to Colorado, we stopped at the Junk Gypsy World Headquarters in Round Top, Texas. I found this key chain, which matches the belt buckle and necklace already in my collection. It's perfect for anyone with a love for vintage trailers, or wandering.

And we're living in our Airstream!

So much has happened in the last few months. In fact, that trip we took to NOLA back in
February changed our lives. During the conference, Justin met some folks from Mile High United Way in Denver, which resulted in a job offer a few months later. We accepted, sold just about everything we owned, packed up the Airstream, and moved across the country. We've gone from part-time adventurers to living full-time in our Airstream.

We've already met some wonderful people here in Colorado. In fact, one of them featured us in her blog, "Tiny House, Tiny Footprint." To catch you up to speed, here's a link to our story. Once things settle down, we hope to recount the actual journey from Florida to Colorado, and tell you about the beautiful state parks we visited.

After Round Top, we headed to McKinney Falls State Park in Austin, TX. Texas State Parks have a cool reservation system where they hold a site for you and you select amongst what's available when you arrive. We found a beauty in campsite #7. 

Once we got set up, Justin began looking into the annoying alarm that kept going off in the truck.

{Justin, here: I was mad as a hornet for the entire drive from Louisiana to Texas because of that alarm. About one time per minute for hours on end. I ended up disconnecting the power to the curbside brakes and that solved the problem. The brakes still aren't fixed, but it's a priority item on my list.}

After figuring out the issue with the trailer wiring, we took a walk to the falls and went for a swim in Onion Creek. That evening, we went into town for dinner, stopping at the famous Airstream food truck, Gourdough's for dessert. We split the Flying Pig doughnut, which had bacon and maple syrup icing. Oh Good Lawd, it was delicious! The dogs were rather pleased to share the bacon with us.
